Also known as criminal law. It is the branch of public law with the objective of safeguarding security and maintaining order for living in society. It is a set of rules that qualify certain human actions or behaviors as infractions and crimes, which must be applied to the appropriate sanctions for each case. It is through this branch of law that we seek justice for crimes committed in society. It can be both by preventive measure, as well as by application of penalty, it should be noted that it is also applied for the defense of the accused, with the intention of reducing the sentence, among others.
